The connection between enlight and Kibbutz Nahal Oz was forged on October 7, 2023, when Captain Iftah Yavetz z”l – the son of enlight CEO Gilad Yavetz – fell in heroic battle while defending the kibbutz. From this profound loss emerged a deep commitment to healing and rebuilding.

Together with Major General (Ret.) Moshe Kaplinsky, Chairman of Bazan, enlight is working closely with the kibbutz leadership to develop a comprehensive business and economic recovery plan—one that looks ahead to growth, resilience, and hope.

As part of this effort, enlight is advancing an initiative to grow sesame in southern communities and to establish a company in Nahal Oz for processing and marketing sesame products. At the same time, enlight employees are supporting the displaced kibbutz community, actively contributing to rehabilitation efforts in preparation for the members’ return home.
